Could the read them from your phone.. No.

They could call the phone company and they could pull every single sent and rec’d text message. But this is a huge hassle and may cost money.

    So it is possible.

of coarse not! once their deleted, no one can read them again!

If they somehow get hold of your phone, and you have a “trash bin”, once a message is deleted it goes into there before being permanently deleted. Then they might be able to view them. But as far as seeing on their bill or calling AT&T, they can only see how many times you texted, and to what number. They cannot see WHAT is texted. So if you’re texting someone you’re not supposed to..if they know the number, they’ll know you’re texting this person. HOWEVER, they can’t see what it is your texting to them. Contrary to what the other poster said, AT&T nor any other provider CANNOT send a report of what’s texted on a line. So in that sense, you’re safe.

They can not read them from your phone, however, the phone company keep records for a certain amount of time and police, etc. can get just a long list of what you sent and recieved – I’m sure the owners of the plan can too, which would be your mom and dad…

wowbango, don’t you watch Law and Order?

If you’ve permanently deleted them, then no. I have AT&T and on the bill, it would just have a log of text messages being sent and received. You shouldn’t worry about it. Unless you’ve done something illegal, then perhaps the authorities can get them through AT&T but if it’s just stuff that you don’t want your parents to know (personal things), then you’re okay. Haha, if you have the right phone, you should put a lock code when you open up your inbox. It works on my Motorola. I’m not sure what you have, but I used to do that when I was a teenager and I didn’t want my parents to be snooping around ;p Also, if you’ve got a “deleted messages” box, I would delete everything in there as well…

check your manual… sometimes text messages are stored in two/more different areas (i.e sent messages, outbox, drafts, message history)… oh and by the way… your parents can only get copies of your sent and recieved texts for legal purposes from the carrier (not just cuz they feel like snooping in their kids’ business). How about you try this… DON’T TEXT ANYTHING THAT YOU DON’T WANT YOUR PARENTS TO KNOW ABOUT… thus saving yourself all the stress and anxiety about them finding out…. good luck…

Do they pay for the account?
    How well do they hack?

It takes a little hacking but it can be done. If they are paying for the account then they can legally hack it. I stumbled across my daughter’s texts while troubleshooting a problem.
I couldn’t care less that 2 girls wore the same blue dress to the dance and one of them had hideous shoes.
