Can you get the text message records from your cell phone?

Question by striving_musician05: Can you get the text message records from your cell phone?
I have verizon and need to know, for my parents sake, if there is any way they could check my messages, including deleted ones, by possibly getting a record of them through the company? The account for the phones is under my mothers name, so could she obtain them?

yes they can. If they wanted too. All you need to do is go on your verizon account online and delete it’s history. But you can only delete what it said. not the number it was to or what time and date it was sent because verizon needs that info to charge you. hope this helped

If you want to know the number of text messages sent and received, then go to the phone that you want tocheck, type in “#DATA” or “#3282″, press send, and Verizon will send you a free text message with all the TXT/PIX/FLIX that you have sent/received.

Not unless they have a court subpoena. They can go online and see who the messages were sent to and from and what time and date, but not what the messages said.

The owner of the cell phone policy/agreement actually can contact the cell phone company for a printout of all cell phone calls, text messages, etc. Even if you delete them from your phone, the phone company still has a copy of all messages and calls on their backup systems. A good example of this is if someone receives threatening text messages and voice mails on their cell phone. The owner can contact the cell phone company, who can provide a copy of these items for use as evidence, which will be admissible in a court of law as evidence…since the cell phone company is considered a reliable professional source. So yes, these are kept in records at your cell company. But usually, parents don’t just contact them to request copies of text messages. Just be careful what you text!
