@ralienpp I see, thanks. Not misheard, but misunderstood. I took “underlying principles make it impossible to recover SMSs in 10 out of 10 cases” to mean that in all cases ( “10 out of 10″) the SMSs would be impossible to recover. From your response I gather that you meant that in some (undefined number) of the cases out of 10 the SMSs would still not be recoverable.

@emeboteerf, it was not misspoken, I’d say it was misheard :-)
If you play it again and listen carefully, I say that someone who advertises a 10 out of 10 recovery chance is probably lying, because there are some constraints you can’t overcome, by design.

So – no, this video is not a joke, the information it provides is valid and you can confirm it by checking the technical specs of SIM cards.

“I am probably lying” . . . “impossible to recover in 10 out of 10 cases”. Was this misspoken, or is this entire video a joke?

@skintyte1, support for iPhone is planned for the next release. I think it will be ready some time in October, and a beta version will probably be available by the end of this month.

Does this work with iPhone that is synced to windows computer??? Please answer.

@mhtitleist, the number of stored SMS depends on the SIM card, I cannot answer that qestion. Usually a SIM can hold around 20 texts, but your mileage may vary.

Regarding the recovery of deleted SMS, I haven’t tested that phone, so I really can’t tell. First verify where the SMS are stored: plug the SIM in another phone – will you see the messages there?

I have a Samsung Rugby from AtT&T. How can I find out if I can recover deleted texts or not? Also how many SMS messages keep on a sim card?

@megameinfocus, the demo version does not have any limitations (except that it won’t work after 30 days).
Yes, it works anywhere in the world.

As for the SMS – do you see any SMS at all? Or do you mean that you don’t see a “SMS” section on the SIM after you read it?

What about the other sections of the card? Do you see the phonebook, the own numbers, etc?

What Sim card reader would you reccomend me to use??…

  14. ralienpp says:

@walkanaghan, no – that is not going to do the trick.

In that case you are not going to be accessing the SIM card directly; instead you’ll be dealing with it via a set of abstraction layers. In other words – you do not have access to the raw data, thus you cannot make such low-level manipulations.

@1Kaba1Ummah, I have no idea, sorry.

I do know that even for the same operator, the cards can be of different capacities, depending on when you bought them.

Why can’t you simply put the card in the phone and explore its contents there?

  18. 1Kaba1Ummah says:

Do you know how many sms records a t-mobile sim card can hold?

  19. ralienpp says:

@goooogrrr, are you sure? Usually phones have an option in the menu which allows you to choose where the SMS should be kept.

In any case, this wasn’t a waste of time, since you’ve acquired some knowledge that might come handy in the future :-)

@YellowErrythanq, SIM Manager works with any PC/SC compliant card reader.

Make sure you’re using the latest version, the current one is 2.9:
    dekart.com/pub/products/SIM%20Manager%202/current/English/SIMManager.exe

To troubleshoot your problem, see my other video (about installing smart card readers).

  21. ralienpp says:

@1Kaba1Ummah, SIM Manager can read as many records as the SIM can hold.

The SIM card in the video, can hold up to 250 records in the address-book, and 20 (if I recall correctly) SMS.

If you have cards with a greater capacity, SIM Manager won’t have a problem with that.

  22. 1Kaba1Ummah says:

@ralienpp, I noticed in your video that when he pressed the read button the max number i saw was 250. does this mean that if there are more than 250 sms messages that it be able to view them all?
